Project Overview
This project focused on solving complex user experience challenges through strategic design thinking and user-centered methodologies.
The Challenge
Most savings tools focused on the financially confident. We wanted to design for people starting from zero — no savings, no routine, and often no trust in financial products. It had to be human, lightweight, and not intimidating. The challenge was creating something engaging enough to break through that inertia without feeling too gamified or condescending.
The Process

I co-led the design and testing of a conversational prototype. I created the initial decision-tree model for the chat flow, wrote dialogue for different saving styles and edge cases, and worked with an agency to design and iterate the UI. We ran three rounds of research, testing new versions each week and tweaking tone, timing, and flow structure. The final experience felt approachable — a balance of encouragement and simplicity.
The Outcome
MoneyCoach launched in Barclays Launchpad and was positively received by early adopters. The pilot showed a meaningful uplift in savings account openings among users who engaged with the chat flow, which validated the nudge-based approach. The project was a quiet win and a useful foundation for future habit-forming product ideas.
